Experience

present

Senior Staff Scientist at SciTec

Simultaneously held leadership roles and developer roles on multiple CLASSIFIED projects. Development work focused (1) Monte Carlo studies using MATLAB (2) Pip installable Python analysis library (3) Pip installable Python debugging library (4) Service integration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm

Highlights

  • Served as Technical Lead, SCRUM master, and developer on $3MM phase-II contract
  • Served as Component Lead, SCRUM master, and developer on $3MM phase-I contract
  • Led data analysis on competitive prototype which generated key insight and won contract
  • Created internal educational tools and resources for Docker, Git, Kalman Filtering, Kubernetes, and crytography

Associate Scientist at SciTec

Developer on two CLASSIFIED projects. Development work focused (1) State-Estimation algorithm development using MATLAB (2) Report & presentation generation

Highlights

  • Developed multiple prototype track-to-track fusion algorithms for state estimation
  • Led development of internal debugging tool suite in Python and Plotly
  • Lead author on multiple contract deliverables

Scientific Data Analysis Researcher at Biodesix

MATLAB developer directed by Senior Vice President and CTO tasked with automating quality control and quality assessment

Highlights

  • Improved information content by a factor of ten thousand, bringing a niche imaging product into market relevance
  • Developed the company-standard for preprocessing raw data for the test development team, resulting in a 50% reduction in errors
  • Worked closely with senior leaders to drive performance and optimization efforts including HPC optimization and those listed below
  • Lead a major automation initiative that resulted in significant person-hour reductions incorporating input from cross functional teams including DBAs, Scientists, and Technicians
  • Completed stretch assignments to build data visualizations in Tableau and PowerBI as a job aide for Lab Technicians to reduce test turnaround time (20% productivity gain)

present

Instructor of Physics at Colorado Community Colleges Online

Highlights

  • Taught introductory physics I & II (5 credit courses)
  • Led weekly discussions of recent STEM publications using simulations, exploratory analysis, and narrative
  • Faculty advisor for Wolfs-to-Rams, a student scholarship
  • Presented on 'Themed STEM Courses' at Colorado's annual community college conference

Graduate Researcher at Louisiana Tech University

Highlights

  • Classically resolved the electron self-energy paradox (most infamous paradox in classical physics)

Petroleum Landman at Beta Land Services, LLC

Beta Land Services provides services in land and lease acquisition, abstracting and title research, due diligence, title curative, and right-of-way.

Highlights

  • Created a minimum viable software solution for scheduling, assigning, and tracking tens of thousands of land titles totaling over $10MM across five states
  • Lead team of 30 people in title verification

Education

PhD in Engineering Physics from Louisiana Tech University with GPA of

Courses

  • Dissertation: Classical Renormalization of the Point Charge
  • Shows quantum-like phenomena from the classical scale that also agree with experiment.
  • Develped first classical theorem that can successfully account for pair annihilation (electron+positron='BOOM'), as is commonly encountered with PET imaging.
  • Contributing member for the development of the new hybrid introductory physics courses, PHYS 209 and PHYS 210. As a contributing member: develop the course materials (e.g., notes, quizzes, tests), lectured the first courses, and ran the recitation sessions. I also assisted with the undergraduate optics lab and the graduate level classical mechanics course.

MS in Applied Physics from Louisiana Tech University with GPA of

Courses

  • Thesis: A Classical Rendition of the Polarizable Vacuum
  • Thesis used to resolve electron self-energy paradox

BS in Physics from University of Louisiana with GPA of

Courses

  • Performed research on characterization of metal alloy elastic properties, dark matter via statistical analysis of Type Ia supernova data, and developed non-incendiary tracers for the US Army. The tracers are now commercially available at Cabela's and online as 'Glow Ammo' and involved building a 'dark tunnel' to test the munitions, operating heavy machinery, welding, electrical, and munitions manufacturing.

Extending the Information Content of the MALDI Analysis of Biological Fluids by Tsypin M, Asmellash S, Meyer K, Oliveira C, Touchet B, Roder H

We were able to provided a standardized methodology for increasing the information content of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry by a factor of 10,000 and CVs below 2% (DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0226012)
